I¬†thought this week’s YouTube video would be a great follow up with this course. I discuss the reasons why I quit graduate school.

It was a difficult decision that proved to be the correct one for me. I recently found the list of reasons I wrote down as a way to help make the decision. It was basically a pro/con list but only cons, haha.

Usually when I have a big decision to make like this I’ve already thought about it extensively. So by the time I write my thoughts down it’s mainly so I can see them all at the same time.

See the issue with just holding all the pros and cons in your head is you can’t see them altogether at the same time. In your mind you’re having to go through each one individually talking to yourself in your head, spending your mental energy just holding space for each thought in your mind. But on paper they can be lined up next to one another and now your mental energy can be spent on actually making the decision and not just holding it all simultaneously in your mind.

It’s simple but an important step. Like, comment, and subscribe if you want to see more videos like this on YouTube from me:
